Updates / Piston for iOS

Subscribe to Cuts, cut ownership and a new Super user role

· Build 8.3

This update is not backward compatible. Update the app and the server at the same time, before your next use. If only one is updated, Piston will not load a live or server session for that user.

⭐️ New

  • 🔢 Named Cuts Export. Name exported Cuts numerically by Cut timestamp across the session, by the order in the Cuts list, or by timestamp within only the selected Cuts.
  • 📥 Subscribe to Cuts. Select all or particular users in a session and download the Cuts they send to the server, unless they have Private Cuts turned on.
  • 👤 Cut ownership. The user who creates a Cut owns it. With Private Cuts off, it goes to the server for others to download. If the creator deletes it from their device, it is removed from the server and from other subscribed devices at the next server check.
  • ♻️ Re-download deleted server Cuts. A new option in Settings re-downloads all Cuts still on the server that were deleted from your device.
  • 🔄 Force Server Check. Skip the sixty-second wait and check or download all server Cuts now.

🔨 Improved

  • 🦸 Super user role with maximum server access. Admin can now start and stop sessions and edit MarkUps, but not shut down or restart the server or edit camera profiles. Analyst can mark and cut but cannot administer the server. Viewer is unchanged.
  • Cut export naming is now the same from the Cuts list and the Cut player.
  • Fewer, lighter server calls over the network.
  • Redesigned Settings menu in the session player.
  • The Cut info card shows who made the Cut, or Private if it was made on the local device and not shared.

🐛 Fixed

  • The info bar on Cuts could not be opened after filtering.
  • Tapping out of the localisation finalisation menu did not continue localisation.
  • Moving between partial or local sessions and server sessions broke the jump to server session icon.
  • Localisation stopped when the device went to sleep.
  • Localisation sometimes offered to finalise while the session was still live.
  • A session with one angle longer than the others could never be fully localised.
  • A licence expiry warning wrongly stayed after changing to a server without one.
