Streaming Camera Resilience, LL-HLS Review & Scoreboard Performance
· Build 879
Live View (LL-HLS)
Low-latency mode now behaves like a DVR — drag the timeline into the past and playback switches to the full session history; Jump to Live returns to the low-latency stream
The player recovers automatically after a camera dropout splices the slate in — no more toggling LL-HLS off and on to get the live picture back
Opening Analyse right after starting a session now loads and plays automatically instead of needing a Jump to Live press
The vertical timeline ruler and playhead stay stable when zoomed in on a live LL-HLS session
Jump to Live lands at a consistent distance behind live even after camera dropouts (all players, including the session page)
Fallback Slate
Camera dropouts are detected in about 3 seconds (previously ~10) — less frozen frame before the slate appears, and less live-view drift afterwards
The slate is generated to match the source stream exactly (profile, pixel format, colour) so re-encoded and stream-copy recordings both survive dropouts cleanly
Network (RTSP/SRT) cameras now get dropout protection too — previously only publishing devices did
Ships with default slate artwork; choose between artwork, your own image, or a test pattern, and position the slate text from Settings
Streaming Cameras
Publishing devices (Piston iOS app, IP cameras, OBS) stay connected through session starts and stops — recordings no longer open with ~10 seconds of slate while the device reconnects
Software updates no longer restart the streaming subsystem unless it actually changed, so connected devices ride through updates
Deleting a camera cleans up its slate and streaming registrations
New Session
A "Publishing Now" row lists devices that are live right now — one tap selects the camera, with a pulsing live badge on its pill; updates every few seconds as devices come and go
The session-start countdown is back, ending with "Starting <session name>" — and the New Session page is protected against one broken widget disabling the rest
Scoreboard
Scoreboard recordings on streaming cameras no longer add latency to the live HLS view
Burning the scoreboard into both live and recording costs roughly half the CPU it did
Tools
Create Session From Movie now offers the organisation picker to every user, preselecting the organisation you signed in under
Creating a camera from a stream shows a progress splash instead of a silent pause
