A Piston server can now reliably restream a session to another Piston server (Advanced Extra HLS output → remote MediaMTX) — the receiving server no longer disconnects slow-starting publishers (Read Timeout is configurable in the Tools MediaMTX widget; raise to 10s on cloud targets) and starting or stopping a session never kicks a live incoming stream off its path
Fallback Slates
Slates now arm themselves — a background reconciler arms every fallback-enabled camera during quiet moments, so streams that can't survive a reconnect (server-to-server pushes, OBS) get dropout protection without ever being disconnected
The multi-camera start with a late-arriving phone (fixed + PTZ cameras recording from the first second, iPhone joining mid-session) is verified end to end — slate covers until the phone connects, live video splices in on arrival
A device that reconnects with a changed track layout (e.g. audio toggled) no longer locks out — pressing Generate Slate frees the path and regenerates from the fresh stream
Server Setup
The default nginx config now carries a ready-to-uncomment HTTP→HTTPS redirect recipe for cloud servers (with inline instructions), so voice comms and camera access always land on a secure origin
