Global search, clip search and an offline sync review
Finding things in Amplify Mobile just got a lot faster. A new Search button brings file search and clip search together across your whole platform, you can filter clips by who commented on them, and offline changes get a proper review before they sync.
Improved
- Added a Search button to the toolbar on File Management screens, replacing the Search and Select Folders for Filtering options in the actions menu
- Choose between Global File Search and Clip Search. The app remembers your last choice
- Both modes search the whole platform by default. Tap Refine Folders to pick specific folders and subfolders instead:
- The button shows a tick and the number of folders being searched
- Only top-level folders show at first, and a chevron opens a folder so you can choose subfolders
- Tap the button again and choose Clear to return to searching everywhere
- Use the Filter button to narrow folder-level results by text, file type, sharing permissions or owner
- Live filtering of files that match what you type, now searching inside subfolders too. Subfolder content didn't show up in the old search
- Opened from a root folder such as My Folders or Shared with Me, it searches everything in that section
- Results look like the normal file view, with timelines grouped under their movie collections, and each file shows a file type icon and its full path
- Results are ordered by folder level, so everything at the first level appears alphabetically before the contents of subfolders
- The X now clears your text instead of closing the search bar
- Search Clips, Qualifiers, Notes, Comments and Commenters across the platform in one go. Tap a category pill to turn it off
- Search Notes uploaded from Angles and Amplify comment threads for text strings
- Find any clip a particular user has commented on with the new Commenters section
- Results expand at three levels: file, row or topic, and clip. Each clip card shows the Qualifier, Note or Comment that matched, and you can select clips one by one
- Each file, timeline and composer shows its clip or row count, so you can see how many clips are inside without expanding it
- Use Select All, or select every row or topic in a timeline or composer from the results page
- Sort results alphabetically, or by most recently edited, viewed or created
- Filter by file type using the icons, and tap the info button for a key to what each icon means
- Matching categories use the same icons and colours on the result cards, so you can see why each clip matched
- Send your selected clips to a composer straight from the results. The send screen opens ready to go, with Create New Composer at the top
- Search your existing composers to narrow the list, and the send button stays on screen however long it gets
- If nothing has been shared with you, the Shared with Me / My Composers choice is skipped
- If you carry on into a composer, the Return to File arrow in the video player takes you back to your search results. The normal back arrow still returns you to the Online Composer list
- The video player Filter menu has a new Commenter section listing everyone who has commented on or replied to clips and comments in the timeline
- A new Text String search looks through uploaded Angles Notes, comment threads or both, and you choose which
- When you have made changes offline, the Sync button opens a review page with conflicts listed first, then other offline comment changes, then composers you created offline
- Conflicts must be resolved before they can sync
- The sync button shows an amber icon when there is a conflict and red when there are unsynced changes
- Offline comments have a new Keep on this device option that keeps the comment private to your offline copy, so you can edit it without syncing
- Deleting a comment that has replies now leaves a Deleted Comment marker so the replies stay in place
- If your access to a video is removed while you are offline, you are warned when you reconnect that your changes will stay on your device only
- Added Create New Composer to every Send to Composer menu
- Moving between an online and downloaded copy of the same content now returns you to the same place in the Clip View
- Opening the Quick Filter inside a folder now puts the cursor in the box with the keyboard open, and an X clears the text
- Checkboxes in select mode inside a composer are now clear boxes that fill with a tick when selected
- The app version and build number now appear at the bottom of Settings
- Android: scrolling the files list no longer turns into an accidental swipe that reveals the delete and edit options when your finger drifts sideways
- Android: smoother scroll wheel behaviour
- Smoother screen rotation on iOS 27
Fixed
- Fixed adding a comment showing two text boxes layered on top of each other
- Fixed being unable to delete a comment on a downloaded video while offline
- Fixed a crash and sluggishness when switching repeatedly between online and offline mode
- Fixed comments submitted offline sometimes not clearing the text box
- Fixed clips without comments looking shorter and cut off compared to commented clips in Clip View
- Fixed the comment icon being hard to see when swiping right on a clip in a composer
