Composer edit mode, portrait clips view and multi-file uploads
Amplify Mobile now lets you reshape Composers on the go. Reorder topics in edit mode, browse clips in portrait, restart failed downloads and upload several videos at once.
📱 Major New Features and Improvements
New Features
- Composer Edit Mode: Tap the pencil icon in any composer to enter Edit Mode. You can now:
- Move entire topics (with all included clips) using drag-and-drop
- Swipe left on a topic to rename or delete it (including its clips)
- Clips View in Portrait Mode: A new timeline view is available in portrait. Tap the double arrows icon to switch views and easily browse clips by row.
- Download Retry: Failed downloads due to the app closing or backgrounding for too long can now be restarted from the Downloads folder.
- New Ways to Switch Angles:
- Tap the angle indicator (visible with player controls) to cycle angles
- Or use the angle change icon in the toolbar (a square with rotating arrows)
- File Sharing: Share video files via AirDrop (or Android equivalent) from the Downloads folder. Multi-angle videos allow angle selection before sharing.
- Multi-File Uploads: Select multiple videos for upload — files will queue and upload progressively.
- File Rename: Swipe right on a file in a folder to rename it.
- Create Folders: Tap the folder icon next to the search bar in My Folders to create a new folder.
- Clip Cutting: Select a clip from within a downloaded timeline or composer and tap the scissors icon to cut and save it to your device’s photo gallery.
- Online Composer Enhancements: Add clips to an existing Online Composer or create a new one directly from other online composers.
Improvements 🔨
- Selecting a row in Clips or Sidebar view selects all clips in that row for easy navigation through clips.
- Tap the row name to deselect all clips in that row.
- Sidebar reopens to the last viewed row.
- Purple indicator shows playhead location across selected clips.
- Terminology changes:
- “Amplify Composer” → “Online Composer”
- “Add New Row” → “Add New Topic”; “Composer Name” → “Topic Name” in composers
- Improved avatar loading and data refresh after reconnecting to the internet.
- Disabled “Send to Composer” icon when no clips are selected.
- Clip Details Overlay now always shows topic/row name, even with no qualifiers/notes.
- Removed unnecessary login warnings when selecting an organisation.
- Uploads persist correctly when backgrounding the app — no more lost connections or false error messages.
- Switching between views (timeline <-> clips or portrait <-> landscape) now retains your position on the last played clip.
- Playhead snaps forward to the next selected clip instead of jumping to the start when dropped between clips.
Bug Fixes 🐞
- Upload size limit reverted back to 1GB for mobile (was mistakenly limited to 10MB).
- Fixed orientation issues when rotating between portrait and landscape.
- Resolved crash when opening Downloads folder while downloads are in progress.
- Fixed ‘Undo’ bugs when deleting clips or rows in composers.
- Prevented corrupt files caused by half-completed clip cuts from blocking future cuts — the app now cleans these up on launch.
