Add rows and clips to timelines
You can now build a timeline straight from your phone. Add rows and clips on mobile, and step through footage with Piston-style stepping and fast-forward controls.
🚀 New Features
📱 Add Rows to Timeline
You can now add a new row to your timeline by tapping the “Add Row” button in the timeline toolbar.
📱 Add Clips to Timeline
Introducing powerful new clip-creation tools in the timeline:
- When a row is selected and the playhead is over empty space, tapping “Add Clip” opens a create clip modal, with default start/end times set to -5 and +5 seconds around the playhead.
- If no row is selected, users are prompted to choose a row before adding a clip.
- If the playhead is overlapping an existing clip, users will be prompted to move it to an empty spot first.
- The clip creation modal features a +/- 60 second slider for adjusting the clip’s start and end points.
- Start and end time fields are also directly editable via text input.
- When dragging the handles or adjusting times via text, the video playhead jumps to reflect the new time, helping you fine-tune your clip selection.
📱 Video Player Enhancements
Stepping and fast-forward/rewind controls have been updated for a smoother experience, similar to Piston:
- Tap right while playing → Skip forward 5 seconds
- Tap left while playing → Skip back 5 seconds
- Tap right while paused → Step forward frame by frame
- Tap left while paused → Step backward frame by frame
- Hold right while playing → Fast forward at 2× speed
- Hold left while playing → Rewind in 1-second increments
🔧 Improvements
- Timeline toolbar icons have been reordered so commonly used actions appear closer to the left—making them quicker to access without scrolling.
- Mute status in the video player is now remembered globally, even after closing and reopening the app.
🐞 Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where the upload progress bar would not show as complete after a video finished uploading.
