Upload Hours per file and a new processing service

See exactly where your upload hours go. Each file and folder now shows its own upload hours, backed by a major migration to a new video processing service for faster, more reliable transcoding.

🚀 New Features

⭐️ Backend & Infrastructure

  • Major backend transcoding service migration, resolving multiple failed transcoding errors and unlocking future features such as Downloading Online Composers.

⭐️ Upload Hours Enhancements

  • Added Upload Hours Used as a visual column for each file within folders in My Folders.
  • Added a total Upload Hours column summarizing usage per folder.
  • Rewrote upload hours logic to calculate directly from the database — ensuring accurate reflection of all files that completed transcoding.

⭐️ Sharing Improvements

  • Added a user icon to groups and subgroups within the sharing modal. Hovering displays a tooltip listing all users in that group/subgroup.

🔨 Improvements

Content Management & File Handling

  • Moved ‘All Content’ out of the File Management sidebar into a dedicated ‘Content Admin’ tab.
  • Replaced the trashcan icon in All Content with a three-dots dropdown menu including Rename and Delete.
  • Added a button within folders to view all deleted files (with upload hours).
  • Changed Last Modified column heading to Upload Date for clarity.
  • Changed Mb to MB in the File Size column and removed decimal points for files under 1GB.
  • Added frontend warnings for failed uploads due to corrupt Composer or Timeline plists.
  • Improved backend logic to correctly assign file types and prevent video uploads if Vault plist processing fails.
  • Changed upload order so that Vault plists upload first, catching errors before video uploads.
  • Rewrote upload flow logic so transcoding completion only shows once all angles have successfully transcoded.
  • Added temporary cache during upload to prevent duplicate transcoding complete notifications.

User Management

  • Added clear instructions at the top of the Delete User page for allocating a user’s files.
  • When deleting a user, they no longer appear in the Allocate Content modal.
  • Major improvements to logic and menu flow when removing a user as an OA, making the process more intuitive.
  • Fixed inheritance logic to ensure deleting a user only transfers files within the same organisation.
  • Added backend protection against duplicate mobile push notifications.

UI & Navigation

  • Improved scrolling behaviour in the File Management page to prevent overscroll when reaching the last file.
  • The cursor hand icon now appears only when hovering over clickable items in the composer.
  • The Upload Hours bar chart tooltip now has clearer UI and text.
  • Long filenames in Online Composers and Content Admin pages now wrap cleanly without breaking mid-word.
  • Hide Clips Information button is no longer greyed out when no clips are selected.
  • Notifications in the Notification Centre have been rewritten for clarity, removing redundant filenames and unnecessary text.
  • The current page being viewed in file lists are no longer remembered after navigating away from a section.

Timeline & Composer

  • Opening a timeline now automatically adjusts height to fit all rows (up to 5 visible rows by default).
  • Added padding below the ruler for empty timelines so scroll bars display correctly when zoomed in.
  • When opening or closing sidebars in fully zoomed-out timelines, the view auto-adjusts to fill available space.
  • Right-clicking Send on Uploaded Composers now opens the same menu as Send to Composer from a timeline.
  • Disabled ability to scroll the timeline ruler or single-row timelines out of view.

Registration & Login

  • Email address is now shown on registration page, preventing display names from being remembered as usernames when remembering password via the browser.
  • Fixed errors when users were added to multiple organisations before registration.

🐞 Bug Fixes

Upload & File Processing

  • Fixed issue where upload queues paused when browser tabs were backgrounded.
  • Fixed issue preventing files with upper case extensions from uploading correctly and removing the extension when inheriting the name of the file.
  • Fixed issue where uploads of concatenated Piston Cuts failed due to unusual codec flags.
  • Fixed issue preventing JSON upload completion that were missing qualifier colour by auto-assigning a default colour.
  • Fixed issue where files marked for deletion weren’t removed from S3.
  • Fixed issue with missing or incorrect Upload Hours data in sidebar charts.

Sharing & Notifications

  • Fixed duplicate notifications when sharing to users in multiple subgroups.
  • Fixed issue where message text entered when sharing to groups didn’t appear in Notification Centre.
  • Fixed email notification issue showing deleted users as content recipients.

User Management

  • Fixed “Unexpected error” when deleting users that caused orphaned accounts.
  • Fixed credential error for users added to multiple orgs before registering.

Interface & Navigation

  • Fixed hidden download icon in Uploaded Composers toolbar.
  • Fixed timeline scrolling when fully zoomed out.
  • Fixed right-click menu not closing after renaming items in Online Composers.
  • Fixed group Edit button not opening the edit modal.
  • Fixed UI layout issues with long filenames wrapping incorrectly.
  • Fixed bug where the video player would pause or become unresponsive when switching angles.
