Favourite clips, filters and locked angles

· Build 3.5.5

Amplify 3.5.5 makes it much faster to find and pull together the moments that matter. Favourite clips as you review, work through your selected clips in a new sidebar, filter any timeline with saved rules, and lock clips to the angle you want. File management and downloads get smoother too.

⭐️ New Features

⭐ Favourite Clips

  • Added the ability to favourite clips inside a timeline or composer and display them in a new Favourites tab in the comments sidebar
  • Select clips and press the favourite button in the timeline toolbar to add them to the favourites list in the right sidebar
  • Hotkeys + and - add and remove the favourite on the currently playing clip
  • Clips in the timeline display a star over the top to show they are favourited
  • A star flashes on screen over the video and clip when a clip is favourited or unfavourited (similar to Angles)
  • Send all favourited clips, or only the clips selected in the sidebar, to a new or existing composer
  • The send to composer button shows a count of the clips that will be sent
  • Added a Hide/Show Sent button to the Favourites sidebar:
    • Hides any favourited clip that has already been sent to a Composer by the user
    • Allows favourited clips to be sent to a composer in batches without having to unfavourite clips that were already sent
  • Favourited clips carry across to the composer when sent, but unfavouriting a clip in the composer does not unfavourite it in the source timeline
  • Sort favourited clips chronologically, alphabetically by row name or in the order they were favourited
  • Edit clip length and add comments to clips directly from the sidebar
  • The currently playing clip is highlighted in the sidebar with a playhead
  • Selecting a clip in the sidebar also selects it in the timeline
  • The page responds to where you last clicked:
    • Click in the sidebar to navigate through favourited clips, whether they are selected or not
    • Click in the timeline to return focus there, so you can tab through selected clips and continue adding favourites
  • Clicking in empty space between clips deselects everything in the sidebar view

📋 Selected Clips Sidebar

  • Added a tabular view in the sidebar of currently selected clips, similar to the mobile Clips View
  • Select clips in the timeline, then navigate through them visually in the sidebar, or maximise video space by dragging the timeline pane down to the bottom of the screen
  • The currently playing clip is highlighted in the sidebar with a playhead
  • Add comments, edit clip length, favourite clips and send all selected clips to a composer from the sidebar
  • Sort selected clips chronologically, alphabetically by row name or in the order they were selected
  • Added a Favourite All button that favourites every selected clip. Once pressed, it becomes Unfavourite All
  • Added a deselect button to each clip to remove it from the sidebar view
  • The send to composer button shows a count of the clips that will be sent
  • Select multiple clips in the sidebar, without affecting the timeline selection, and send only those to a composer
  • Clicking in empty space between clips deselects everything in the sidebar view

🔎 Filter Tab

  • Added a Filter tab to the right sidebar of the video player
  • Filters apply per user and do not affect other users viewing the same content at the same time
  • Pressing the Filter button in the timeline toolbar switches to the Filter tab automatically
  • Search from the textbox at the top of the sidebar to filter through available Row Names, Qualifier Names and Qualifier Categories
  • Check or uncheck which variables to search: Row Name, Qualifier Name, Qualifier Category, Notes or Comments
  • Text searches can contain, start with, end with, match exactly or not match:
    • Pressing the button beneath the search bar adds a string filter across all ticked variables
    • Specific string searches can also be set per variable from the drop-down menu
  • The Active Rules section shows every active variable and string search, and filters can be cleared with Clear Filters in the sidebar or the timeline toolbar
  • Match All / Match Any toggles between AND and OR logic
  • Filter In / Filter Out toggles between showing items that match or do not match the criteria
  • Filter by whether clips have been commented on by a particular user, or whether they have any comments at all
  • Selecting a Qualifier, Category, Row or commenter that is already selected removes it from the active filters
  • Filters can be saved and reapplied later across any timeline
  • Right-click the filter button in the timeline toolbar to see all saved filters for quick application, plus a clear filters option. When the Filter sidebar is already open, a single left click opens this menu as well

🔒 Lock Clips to Angles

  • Lock a clip to a particular angle by right-clicking it and selecting Lock angle
  • Press L to lock or unlock the angle on a clip
  • Lock multiple clips to an angle at once by selecting them all and placing the playhead over one of the clips
  • Angles that were locked in an Angles vault are locked to the clip automatically when the vault is uploaded to Amplify

📁 Create Folders by Dragging

  • Drag one file on top of another to create a new folder containing both files

↕️ Collapse and Expand Timeline

  • Added a quick Collapse / Expand button to the timeline ruler that expands the video pane so only the ruler and playhead remain in view

🔨 Improvements

📂 File Management

  • Moving a file or folder now shows an Undo button on the green notification in the bottom left corner for as long as the notification is visible
  • Pinned content that is moved into another subfolder stays pinned in its new location
  • Improved drag-and-drop for pinned files:
    • Removed the re-order pinned section button
    • Drag a pinned file between other pinned files to re-arrange the order
    • Drag a pinned file out of the pinned area to unpin it and return it to the sorted order
    • Drag an unpinned file into the pinned area to pin it where you release the mouse
  • The global search drop-down now shows the full file path of each result, so you can see where files are stored
  • Moved the Global Search bar out of the top toolbar and into the files sidebar so it is easier to find
  • Changed the placeholder text and icons on the Global Search bar and the Quick Filter bar in each files section to make the difference between the two clear

⬇️ Downloads

  • Reworded the download appended footage modal to make clear that downloading source videos does not use download hours, but downloading a merged video does
  • When downloading appended videos from a collection, or from a collection with no timeline, you are no longer asked what to download, as the only option is the single Video
  • Downloading a video that has only one angle and no timeline selected now starts immediately, rather than asking you to pick from a list of one item

🎛️ Video Player

  • The minimise sidebar control is now consistent across both sidebars, freeing up space at the top of the right sidebar for more tabs
  • Clicking the clip count beside the volume button in the timeline toolbar selects all filtered-in clips

🐞 Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the edit clip colour modal not layering correctly, which let the timeline show through it
  • Fixed incorrect angle ordering when uploading an Angles vault whose angle numbers were not 1, 2, 3, 4. Amplify now reads the angle_number_displayed_ordinal value in the plist to determine angle position
  • Fixed externally shared files that were appended on upload producing an invalid download page from the link in the email. The link now lets you download all source videos, plus the merged output if one exists
  • Fixed being unable to drag a minimised, processing appended download around the page when it was minimised from within a subfolder
  • Fixed the minimised modal being dismissed when navigating up the folder structure, or leaving the video player page, while an appended download was processing
  • Fixed the shortcuts for changing angles (1, 2, 3, 4) and cycling through angles (C)
  • Fixed pressing a clip in a composer removing the clip details overlay even when the toggle to hide it was off
