Custom folder icons, a new clip editor and video player hotkeys

Make Amplify feel like yours and edit faster. Replace folder icons and thumbnails, edit clips more easily, drag and drop files, and use new keyboard shortcuts in the video player.

🖼️ Custom Folder Icons & Thumbnails

• Folders and files can now have their folder icon or thumbnail replaced with a custom image

✂️ Improved Clip Editing

• Added a new clip editing interface for Online and Uploaded Composers
• Trim clip start and end points directly to the current playhead position
• Added drag handles showing the clip length against the original source timeline
• Added I and O keyboard shortcuts for setting clip In and Out points
• Added trim buttons to clip creation and editing modals
• The playhead can now be dragged while editing a clip
• Arrow key navigation while editing automatically keeps the playhead centred

📁 Drag & Drop File Management

• Files and folders can now be dragged and dropped into folders and subfolders to move them
• Hovering over a subfolder highlights it as the destination
• Folders moved from the root level become subfolders in their new location
• Dragging a file or folder onto the back arrow moves it up one level

📤 Upload Timeline Data

• Added Upload Timeline Data to the Actions menu when right-clicking files
• Updated the video player toolbar wording from Upload JSON to Upload Timeline Data

🎬 Create Empty Timeline

• Added Create Empty Timeline to the Actions menu for Movie Collections
• Allows users to create an empty timeline attached to an existing Movie Collection

⌨️ Video Player Hotkeys

• Added keyboard shortcuts for faster video navigation:
  • 1, 2, 3, 4 — Switch to a specific angle
  • C — Cycle through angles
  • S — Send the currently playing clip to a Composer

🔔 Email Notification Preferences

• Added email notification preferences to the Preferences menu
• Users will continue to receive these notifications in the Notification Centre, but can choose whether to receive email notifications when:
• Content is moved
• Content is shared and they are notified

👥 Download Preferences

• Organisation Admins can now set the default Allow Downloads preference for:
• All users
• Individual User Types
• Allow Downloads is now off by default when sharing content

🛠 Generated Downloads Management

• Added a Merged Timeline Videos section to Generated Downloads in Admin
• Organisation Admins can now manage and delete merged videos created from appended footage

🔨 Improvements

🚀 Upload & Download Performance

• Significantly improved upload speeds through concurrent video chunk uploading
• Appended videos are no longer merged during the initial upload, saving upload and processing time
• Merged videos are now generated only when a download is requested
• Downloading appended footage now gives users the option to:
  • Download the original source footage
  • Use Download Hours to generate and download the merged video
• Progress of merged video generation is now displayed and the download modal can be minimised
• Online Composer downloads now transcode directly from source movies rather than HLS, reducing quality loss and speeding up transcoding by up to 3.5x

🔔 Notifications

• Bulk move and delete actions now generate a single notification rather than one notification per file
• Improved notification handling for shared and collaborative files that are moved
• Organisation Admins can now set email notification preferences across the organisation or by User Type

👥 Sharing & Permissions

• Replaced the collaborators folder icon with a Share icon
• Clicking the Share icon opens the Share modal
• Hovering over the Share icon shows everyone the file or folder is shared with
• When a subfolder is moved, inherited collaborators from parent folders are retained
• Analysts and Viewers can no longer see other users’ email addresses throughout the platform

📌 Pinned Content

• Improved the pinned content UI with a dedicated pinned section at the top of the page
• Added a Reorder Pinned Content button to easily rearrange pinned items
• Reordering mode temporarily disables normal folder navigation while arranging pinned content

🎥 Video & Timeline Improvements

• Zooming the timeline while editing a clip no longer closes the edit modal
• File icons are now displayed in the bottom-left corner of thumbnails
• Added support for M4V files when uploading additional angles
• Improved playhead behaviour when navigating and editing timelines
• When adding a row to a Movie Collection without a timeline, the current playhead position is now retained

📤 Upload Warnings

• Improved warnings for audio files with multiple descriptions, helping users identify footage that may need to be transcoded before uploading

🐞 Bug Fixes

• Fixed issue where removing All Users sharing from a pinned file or folder also removed the pin
• Fixed issue where additional angles were automatically sorted alphabetically instead of being added to the next available angle number
• Fixed issue where concurrent JSON uploads to the same collaborative file could cause the file type to become invalid and subsequent uploads to be associated with an incorrect file
