Swipe to send clips to Composers

· Build 1.7.0

Getting clips into a Composer is now a swipe. Swipe clips to an existing or new Composer, with a live count of your filtered clips and a round of polish across filters, stepping and timeline behaviour.

📱 New Features

Filtered Clips Count

  • Added a dynamic filtered clips counter at the bottom of the Filter Modal that updates live as each new filter criterion is selected.

Swipe to Send Clips to Composers

  • Swipe left on a clip in Clip View or the Timeline Sidebar to send it to an existing composer.
  • Swipe right to send it to a new composer.

🔨 Improvements

Send to Composer

  • Added an additional menu when sending clip to composer that asks whether you want to send currently playing clip or all selected clips.
  • Changed text in send to existing composer menu from ‘Clips’ to ‘Clip(s)’ to account for scenarios where only one clip is being sent.

Filters & Selection Behaviour

  • Changed the default Filter logic to “Clips AND Qualifiers”.
  • When a row is selected and a filter is then applied so that no clips in that row are filtered in, the row and all clips within it are then de-selected.

FF / RWD & Stepping Interactions

  • All FF speeds are now double the current playback speed.
  • Rewind speed is now always 2× the playback speed, except when paused (rewind becomes 1×).
  • Long press on the FF/RWD icons when overlay is showing will FF/RWD the same as long pressing on the left or right side of the screen.
  • When double tapping multiple times on the left or right side of the screen to step through the footage, the jump forward overlay accumulates time to show the total time jumped.
  • Stepping Overlay jump indicator UI improvements — larger and repositioned.

Timeline & Clip View Behaviour

  • Added a ruler and playhead to videos without any rows.
  • Video without rows plays in timeline mode until a row with a clip is added, then automatically switches to the default timeline view.
  • Hide zoom in/out icons from toolbar when in Clip View.
  • Hide the ‘Add Clip’ button in the toolbar when in Clip View.
  • Changed Playhead positioning so that the ball sits inside the ruler, aligning with Angles and Web.

Orientation & Row Handling

  • When selecting a new row in Portrait Timeline view, rotating to landscape then shows the newly selected row in clips sidebar, in overlay timeline and when returning to portrait Clip View.

General UI Improvements

  • Added an X button into the top corners of sidebars so they can be closed without tapping the overlay.
  • Changed default sharing permissions to ‘Comment & Create’ to match the Web.

🐞 Bug Fixes

  • Fixed bug where the send to existing composer list did not correctly load Online Composers in the correct order and required users to scroll to refresh.
  • Fixed crash occurring from swiping on a clip in a composer to delete a clip.
  • Fixed UI issue where swiping on a clip in a composer on iPad did not show the trashcan icon as it was outside the screen boundaries.
  • Fixed bug where back arrow in the ‘Stay Here’ / ‘Proceed to Composer’ button did not work. It now correctly redirects users back to the Send to Existing Composer page.
  • Fixed crash occurring when hitting ‘Done’ in Filters when applying Clips AND Qualifiers without selecting at least one Clip and Qualifier.
  • Fixed bug where filtering by a row that is named partially the same as another (e.g., “Line” vs “Line R”) caused filtering inconsistencies.
  • Fixed crash occurring when selecting a row in timeline view, filtering out that row, and then flicking to Clip View.
  • Fixed issue where the dot beside each clip was not turning purple until the playhead was 1 second past the start of the clip.
  • Fixed UI issue where swiping back up through clips in Clip View stopped auto-scrolling after Clip 6.
  • Fixed UI error where during login, a long list of organisations overlapped the Privacy Policy button.
