Subfolders, restoring deleted content and organisation-wide preferences

Keep your library organised and recover from mistakes. Create subfolders, restore deleted content, copy files without using extra storage, and set preferences for your whole organisation.

⭐️ New Features

📁 Improved Folder Management

  • Users can now create subfolders within folders and existing subfolders directly from the sidebar
  • Added filters within folders to quickly show:
    • Timelines
    • Composers
    • Subfolders
  • Added a new Select mode for bulk actions within folders
  • Users can now select multiple videos or subfolders for:
    • Deletion
    • Moving
    • Copying

♻️ Restore Deleted Content

  • Added a new Restore button beside items in the Deleted Content list within folders
  • Content can be restored for up to 30 days after deletion
  • Restored items return to their original location
  • Restoring content also restores associated storage usage in the sidebar

Reminder: Upload Hours are not returned when content is deleted

🎥 Video Angle Renaming

  • Users can now right-click video angles in the video player sidebar and rename them

📋 Copy Files Without Additional Storage Usage

  • Video files can now be copied to other locations without consuming additional storage space or Upload Hours
  • Copies use the original movie as a reference while duplicating timeline data

⚙️ User Preferences

Added a new Preferences menu in the user dropdown allowing users to configure:

  • Mute all videos
  • Default position clips are added in composers (top or bottom)
  • Arrow key stepping interval
  • Default In and Out times for new clips

👥 Organisation-Wide Preference Controls

Organisation Admins can now:

  • Set preferences for individual users

  • Override preferences for:

  • Groups

  • Subgroups

  • Roles

  • Entire organisations

🔄 Move & Copy UI Improvements

  • Redesigned the Move To and Copy To menus with clearer indicators showing:

  • Which file is being moved/copied

  • Current location

  • Destination folder

👥 Smarter Subfolder Sharing

  • Sharing a subfolder without sharing its parent folder will now display that subfolder as the user’s top-level folder
  • Users will not see or be aware of parent folder structures above it

🔔 Folder Move Notifications

  • Users are now notified when a shared or collaborative folder is moved into another folder they also have access to

⚠️ Composer Dependency Warnings

  • Added warning modals when deleting content currently used in Online Composers
  • If deleted:
    • Related clips are removed from composers
    • Empty composers are automatically deleted
  • Composer owners are also notified when this occurs

🔨 Improvements

🎬 Timeline & Movie Collection Handling

  • Improved handling of Movie Collections and reference timelines
  • Collections now always display grouped timeline UI, even with only one timeline
  • REF timelines correctly display 0MB and REF upload hours
  • Deleting the final timeline now correctly reverts the collection back to a standard video
  • Sharing behaviour for Movie Collections and timelines is now more consistent across Shared with Me
  • Delete wording clarified between deleting a “timeline” and a “movie collection”
  • “Delete Timeline Data” hidden when no timelines exist

📥 Online Composer Downloads

  • Added ability to cancel downloads during the file checking phase before AWS processing begins
  • Improved download preparation and handling for large downloads
  • Added warning when attempting to download timeline videos generated from appended mobile uploads

📂 File Management Improvements

  • Added an Owner column in collaborative folders
  • Files and folders can now be sorted by owner
  • Added indicators when filters are active in Shared With Me
  • Added tooltips showing full filenames in delete menus
  • Improved Deleted Content UI with grouped timelines and file icons

🎞 Playback & Timeline Workflow

  • Improved timeline zooming responsiveness and long-press behaviour
  • Video now pauses automatically when:
    • Adding a clip
    • Adding a row
  • New rows are automatically selected upon creation
  • Clips sent to composers are now ordered by timestamp rather than creation order

📤 Upload Improvements

  • Added support for .m4v video uploads
  • Improved handling of very large uploads and browser localStorage limitations
  • Added warning if an aVault package changes during resumed upload
  • Improved Stop & Delete UI feedback during uploads

🐞 Bug Fixes

  • Fixed issue where deleting or cancelling uploads could leave broken draft collections behind
  • Fixed several sharing-related bugs affecting content visibility and permissions
  • Fixed issue where Analysts could not see Viewer accounts in the share modal
  • Fixed incorrect naming and ordering of angles in uploaded multi-angle packages
  • Fixed Safari issue where changing angles briefly restarted playback
